France 2000

We joined up with a small tour group

for a day at the Chateau de Versailles.

With its grand ballrooms and perfect

gardens and a scale thats hard to

    comprehend.

The back patio alone is two acres in

size, and how about a backyard that's

    measured in kilometers!

outside of Paris. The entire journey is about 3 hrs.

In Rennes, after an hour of frantic searching, we locate

our rental car and head off to our hotel only 1 Km away,

but arriving only after a harrowing half hour "tour" of

Old Town Rennes. (is every street one way the wrong way?)

An afternoon walking tour of the town turns out much nicer.

Many of the buildings in Old Town are 3 or 4 centuries old.

Luckily, our hotel is much newer...
